Bio

The Internet knows me as Maya Ibuki but my real name is Jorge Luis Maya. I am an organized, competent and dedicated young designer from Bogotá, Colombia. I am in love with computers, culture and how humans create culture with computers. I want to design communication between people, machines and/or entities. I studied Design for 5 years at the Universidad de los Andes with emphasis on Communication and Product design. Even though, most of my design skills and knowledge are self taught, there I learned about history of arts and design, a variety of media (specially "new media"), materials, process, techniques and its uses, intellectual property, how to communicate properly, how to design business models, how to detect consumer trends and insights, Design Thinking and so on... Although, the most valuable lesson: I learned to learn. I work with a range of software including Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Flash, Autodesk Maya, Autodesk SketchBook (pro and Designer), Final Cut Pro, Pixen, Processing, Wiring, iWork and so much more.
